PN532 Board not found

Post by Jdoval »

I purchased a PN532 board on July 28, Order: 2893005-4996777903
I connected to an Arduino Uno using the instruction provided here:
https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-pn5 ... out-wiring
I'm using the Adafruit sketch "readMifare" to capture board information, but with no luck. It continues to show "Didn't find PN53X board"
Below is an image of the wiring:

To debug, I have also connect to a Due w/o the 4050 --> same results
I also connected to linux virtual box using libnfc --> same results

Any help would be great. Thanks!

Can you post clear closeups of your soldering of the headers?

Have you tried changing the wires or position on the breadboard?

I have used different leads and test board locations with no luck

I can't really see the soldering. A tighter closeup on the soldered side of the headers, please.

Thanks. It doesn't look horrible. But the few at the 5v end look a mess and possibly have the potential for shorts. I suggest retouching all the connections and cleaning it up a bit.Make sure you have good solder joints with no splatter ot bits of solder around them.

The fact that you've tried different controller, wires, and protoboard locations strongly points to the PN532 board.

I'm thinking it's a bad board.

Please email [email protected] with a link to this thread, your order number, and request the replacement of one PN532 NFC/RFID controller breakout board - v1.6.
