Hi there, I'm trying to make a costume that is part steampunk and part "vintage film director". I would love to have decorative spinning projector wheels (going in opposite directions) at the breast pocket (see attached mockup), with motor/battery operated power coming from within that pocket. I'm choosing this wheel as it looks most like a film reel.

Initially I was thinking this could be a simple gear device, but if I'm using this wheel, it seems like the best way to go would be to have two motors, each spinning each wheel in the opposite direction powered by a wearable battery pack.
Going off another post, I could get 2x this combo but would need to solder the wires (which I would prefer to avoid if possible as I don't own a solder gun).

Is there something out of the box that connects — or can I get a converter? Is this the best combo you recommend to create this effect?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

From a mechanical perspective, you would be better off using "TT" style motors. The right-angle drive would let it sit closer to your chest and those wheels are designed specifically to fit that shaft.

You could avoid soldering using the #2941 motors in the servo shell. You could splice the two connectors with a couple short pieces of wire and wrap it with tape. (Functional, but very elegant or robust). However, you would need to make some sort of adapter due to the mismatched servo shaft. And that would probably add even more height to the assembly.

An even lower profile - as well as much quieter - option would be these small geared stepper motors:

But that would require a processor and stepper controller:
