No Connection to PC
I have a brand new Metro M4 that doesn't seem to be connecting to my PC. The USB cable works with my circuitplayground board just fine. Double clicking the reset button does not produce the green light that the instructions said it would. Anything else I can try?

Re: No Connection to PC
Are you using the same USB port on the PC (good to know you have a working data cable)?
Does anything show up on the PC side under the 'Device Manager' --> Ports section when plugged in?
Are there any LEDs on the board coming on?
What version of Windows are you running?

Re: No Connection to PC
I've tried all 3 USB ports on my PC with no luck. Nothing shows up in Device Manager either. The green "ON" LED turns on when the device is plugged in. I am on Windows 10mikeysklar wrote: ↑Sun Sep 04, 2022 4:51 pm Are you using the same USB port on the PC (good to know you have a working data cable)?

Re: No Connection to PC
Thank you for those details.
The controller turning green sound correct for the Metro M4 being in bootloader mode:
Since it is not showing up on your machine there are fw options left.
1) Try a different machine to see if the board is detected.
2) Try a USB2 hub if you have one.
3) Reprogram the bootloader via jlink connection.
4) Replace the board.
Maybe you can try the first two if possible?

When the reset button is double clicked (about half second between each click) the NeoPixel will stay green to let you know the bootloader is active. When the reset button is clicked once, the 'user program' (NeoPixel color swirl) restarts.

Re: No Connection to PC
I have learned that a few Metro M4's went out unprogrammed. The current stock is good. Please contact [email protected] for a replacement. Provide a link to this forum thread and your order#.

Re: No Connection to PC
Hello I have the same issue as stated above.
My brand new Metro M4 is not being recogneized by my PC (Windows 10).
The Green LED on the boards turns on as soon as I plug it in, but no matter how often I double click reset it will not get recognized.
The cable works and another board (also a Metro) gets recognized imidiatly.
Support said I should post in the forum..

@jakobt,
Normally a new thread would be more appropriate, but I don't want to delay your replacement. Please e-mail [email protected] requesting a replacement board. Provide your order# and link to this forum thread.
