Raspberry Pi Camera Board v2 - 8 Megapixels Not Detected

Post by maboals »

I recently purchased a Raspberry Pi Camera Board v2 - 8 Megapixels[ID:3099] board and am having trouble getting it working. The original order number is 2902761.

I have run through multiple online tutorials and troubleshooting guides.

When I run raspistill I get the following error message:
pi@raspberrypi:~ $ raspistill -o Documents/image.jpg
mmal: Cannot read camera info, keeping the defaults for OV5647
mmal: mmal_vc_component_create: failed to create component 'vc.ril.camera' (1:ENOMEM)
mmal: mmal_component_create_core: could not create component 'vc.ril.camera' (1)
mmal: Failed to create camera component
mmal: main: Failed to create camera component
mmal: Camera is not detected. Please check carefully the camera module is installed correctly

I have tried reseating the cables on the Raspberry Pi and camera board. I have made sure the camera connector is properly seated.

Can you give additional guidance or instructions on how to get a replacement?

Are you using 64-bit OS, or 32-bit?
