5V Active Buzzers not working properly

Post by dtran2 »

Hi, I bought two 5V active buzzers and they don't wail. I noticed the problem when I soldered one onto my board and supply it with value(1) or 3.3V, and it struggles. I tried my second buzzer on a breadboard at 5V, and it struggles, too. Finally, I looked all over and found an identical buzzer I bought months prior, and it works.

Just to see if it matters - what happens if you remove the current limiting resistor? Just apply 3V or 5V directly to the buzzers.

I now checked without the resistor and the problem is unchanged. I used just a 100 ohm resister. The + goes is on the 5V positive.
