LED backlights
I recently purchased the rectangular LED backlight panels medium and large, as I already had the small ones. I saw the round LED backlights and purchased two. The rectangular panels lit up just fine with 3v CR2032 battery, but neither of the round panels would work. The description states that they only need 3v, so what am I missing? Any help would be appreciated. (And yes, I checked the polarity to make sure they were properly hooked up).

Yes, that is the product I am referring to (Round LED Backlight - 50mm). As I stated, neither panel will light up with 3V applied.

Re: LED backlights
Hey, just wanted to update. Sorry, no answer yet. This is a bit of a mystery since these used to work as expected from the parallel arrangement of the LEDs shown in the datasheet. So we need to do some checking where the potential disconnect is.
Thanks for verifying the product.
We'll respond back here in this forum thread when we have new info.

Re: LED backlights
pardon the delay- we got really slammed with a bunch of projects :)
we just connected up a round backlight to our benchtop supply, 3V definitely lit it up, 60mA draw
can you try a 2 or 3 x AA or AAA holder or something that gives 3.3V?

Re: LED backlights
Did as requested; fresh batteries, still no light from the panels. No physical damage to the exterior of the panels, so problem must be internal.

Re: LED backlights
Found the problem. The leads on the LED backlight require a solid connection to the power source in order to work. I used a battery holder with alligator clips on each lead, and got the panel to light up with 3V. It wasn't a constant steady light; it occasionally flickered, so it needs a solder connection to be fully functional. I didn't originally solder wires to it, as I test LEDs before I do so. So they do work.
