Adafruit USB Isolator (#2107) - Why rated at 100 mA when chip is rated for 500 mA?

Post by sofakng »

I have a quick question regarding the Adafruit USB Isolator (#2107).

The description is very clear about the max current of 100 mA but I'm wondering why that is the specification when the DC-DC converter (ADuM5000) is rated for 500 mA?
