Hi all, I've been trying to drive an LED matrix (specifically this one: https://www.adafruit.com/product/2278) from an FPGA. I can display basic reds, greens, and blues; however, when I try to use my implementation of binary-coded modulation to dim the panel and display more complex colours, I get this strange pattern:
For whatever reason, vertical bands of varying brightness start appearing in the first 16 columns of the panel (the side where I believe data is shifted in from). Unfortunately, I can't find any datasheets for the driver ICs used in this panel, so I'm completely in the dark as to how to properly drive this thing. As such, if anyone has experienced issues similar to this or has any idea why this is happening, I'm all ears. Any help is appreciated!

Re: Help with LED matrix artifact
Sounds like a complex challenge to do it with FPGA.
Why do you want to do that instead of the usual matrix adapters on a microcontroller as sold here?
