Re: Feather ESP32-S2 and TPL5110 with LiPo battery
I just ordered via eBay what appears to be the same TPL5110 board, but without the Adafruit logo. I suspect they're all made at the same place. I'm hoping this board will behave as expected and will validate my perception there's a bad batch from Adafruit. It will take a few weeks for the order to arrive. I'm not meaning to deride Adafruit in any way....just trying to get a board that works as expected.

Adafruit boards are made at Adafruit in NYC. The 5110 is a pretty simple chip so I can't see much variation in design.

So....board finally arrives from China. I soldered it up and it pretty much acts the same, albeit with a slightly different look due to a different LED. No power is passed to the Feather.
I'm throwing in the towel...I haven't a clue as to what's happening and I've invested so much time.

Have you tried a TPL5110 board from Adafruit?

I've tried 3 of them. They acted the same way, which is why I ordered one via eBay (from China) to see if it was simply a bad batch from Adafruit.

Bummer. All I can say for sure is that it works when I wired it up exactly like you did with board from years ago and a new one.

I totally don't understand. I tried today with a Particle Argon micro-controller to see if that would make any difference...none. I'm not one to give up, but I haven't a clue as to where to go next. All I really wanted was to be able to power the micro from battery for multiple years. I couldn't get low enough deep sleep current, so I turned to the TPL5110. In any case, I appreciate your continued feedback and suggestions!

Tried to DM you via Mastodon. I'm totally new to it, so I'm not sure if I did it correctly.

dastels -- Did you receive the TPL5110 boards I sent you a month ago? I've tried messaging you via Mastodon, but have heard nothing.

I've gotten and replied to your mastodon messages... still haven't gotten the hang of it yet I guess. They seem to work as you described (no big surprise there), but I haven't gotten beyond that yet. Did you get the message I sent this morning on Mastodon?

Did not get any messages from you via Mastodon. I'm not thrilled with that service, but it could be my fault.
