Hello, I need an altimeter to measure elevations from sea level to 5,000 meters along the banks of a river. The precision I need is + - 0.5m and I can't find any GPS that allows me to achieve that, all the ones I've seen have a margin of error of + - 3 meters at least.
I don't know electronics or programming, I had thought about buying the Adafruit BMP390, but in the discord chat they told me that I can't convert pressure to height directly because it is affected by several factors, and even if I consider temperature, it would not be enough.
Do you know what I can do?
Thank you very much :)

Checkout this guide which tries to go into some detail about how altitude is computed from pressure:

Getting 0.5m accuracy will be tricky, if even possible.
