QT Py with 5x5 NeoPixel BFF and LiIon BFF

Post by blands89 »

Hi!

I was wondering if it’s possible to use the QT Py RP2040 with the 5x5 NeoPixel grid BFF and LiIon BFF at the same time for battery powered, wireless operation. I know the BFF boards are meant to be soldered back to back, but if I made the connections via wire instead, it should work right? As long as the battery provides enough power for the NeoPixels. Thanks for your help!

The products I’m talking about:

They should be fine. The LiPo BFF only connects to 5v & ground (and optionally A2 if you want to monitor the voltage on the 5v pin). The NeoPixel BFF connects to 5v and ground as well as A1, A2, or A3 (A3 by default). So there isn't a conflict and it should just work. You could still stack them if you use extra long pins to allow adequate space for the battery connector.
