I'm working up a parts list for a dance pad that I would like to make wireless, with Neopixel edge lighting. I'm looking at the ESP32 Feather V2 for Bluetooth LE and integrated battery charging, but the guide only mentions Lithium Polymer batteries. EDIT: oops, the guide does mention Li-Ion. The following questions still stand though;
Is there any difference as far as the board knows between a Li-Po and Lithium Ion battery pack? Are there any considerations that need to be made in setup or does the charger work out of the box equally well with either chemistry? Space and weight aren't a concern so I'd like to stuff as much battery as I can into this project, and it seems like Lithium-Ion (not polymer) batteries are available in larger capacities.
If Li-Ion are compatible with the feather, is there any reason I should use Li-Po instead anyway?
Thanks!

Re: Feather V2 Battery Chemistry
The guide on Li-Ion and LiPoly batteries refers to the packs as:
* lithium ion
* lithium ion polymer

Lots of details and minor differences in the guide above.
