Looking for a guide to build bluetooth headphones

Post by dracolytch »

Hey folks,

I'm trying to go from beginner to intermediate with my electronics skills, and my eldest child would like to make a pair of bluetooth headphones. I've seen all kinds of guides... People buying mystery parts from China, people salvaging boards from other types of receivers. The AdaFruit tutorial that talks about Bluetooth and headphones is just adding BT lights to wired headphones, which was a disappointment. I found so many other hits from people trying to do similar, but no definitive guides for what seems like a good intermediate project.

If going from scratch, I guess I'll need a BT module (Can't seem to find one appropriate from AdaFruit? Where else would I go for reliable electronics that make sense?), amp, battery, battery charge module, switches, buttons, speakers...?

So, yeah, a little more lost than normal, but thank you to anyone who can lead me in the right direction.

Most of the Adafruit products are BLE and are not designed or capable of audio.
