Trouble with Itsy Bitsy M4 bootloader

Post by mbiasotti »

I recently updated my bootloader for my ItsyBitsy M4 using the flash drive method described on the Adafruit support page. It is now at:

UF2 Bootloader v3.14.0 SFHWRO
Model: ItsyBitsy M4 Express
Board-ID: SAMD51G19A-Itsy-v0

The problem I have now is that every time I try to upload a sketch, the sketch does not upload and it goes into bootloader mode (green neopixel with pulsing red light) and flash drive window appears ? At the same time it seems to switch the com port which explains why the sketch does upload. What gives?

Thanks in advance.

Mark

Are you seeing that same behavior even uploading a basic Blink example sketch?

Yes, same behavior on Blink sketch (first thing I tried). I've had it go into this behavior about a month ago and can't remember how I got out of it (i.e. single, multiple reset button clickes etc.) All along I've been using the 1.9 version of Arduino IDE, not on 2.0 yet.

I just tried the blink and the sketch I'm working on using my 2.0 Arduino and it uploads fine. When I get home to my 1.9 version I'll try again, if not I just start using Arduino IDE 2.0 on on a full-time basis - might as well.

thanks for your help.
