Wattage meter

Post by Binary_Ben »

Howdy,

I recently purchased a solar panel and a wattage meter from addafruit. Here is the wattage meter https://www.adafruit.com/product/3624#tutorials. The solar panel is this https://www.adafruit.com/product/5367#tutorials. I have it wired correctly so not going to send schematics. I however have problems with the amps, it is saying 0 amps when there is in fact amps, the volts work. Also, i don't know how to turn on the time. The instructions were verry limited, and most of the commands do not work. Also how do you turn it off. It says just hold the key but that does not work. Any info would be very usefull. Thanks. I also tested it with other electronics, so it dosn't have to do with the solar panel, I know that having something to regulate the solar panel would be optimal i however do not have that. It also says that there is 999.9 ohm of resistance when there are 0. I had no load connected to see, i then put a 25 ohm resitor 50 hm resister and 100hm resistor and it still said 1000. I might have put in some setting wrong i am not sure. Thx Sorry for the typos.

Sorry for the inconvenience but, could you post a picture of your connection? Also, have you tested it with a conventional power supply to make sure the meter is indeed the culprit?

Attached are photos of the wiring and the data screens. I have tested it with a conventional power supply. It yields the same result, volts, no amps, and 999 ohms of resistance. The problem might be that it's supposed to be in test mode. I, however, didn't see anything about how to turn that on in the manual. Just vague references of it. Put the photos in drive folder, they are 2mb, didn't want to downsize them, sry. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing.
