ADS1115 at 3.3V vs 5V with ESP32

Post by ayates »

Running a Huzzah32 ESP32 at 3.3V (naturally). Plans to monitor security sensors equipped with (double) end-of-line resistors. A common method is using an ADC and a voltage divider. I was wondering though, if there was any advantage to running the ADS1115 ADC on 5V? Running the numbers, a 3.3V supply looks to give lots of margin, and is obviously a simpler architecture.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Allan.

I don't see any advantage to the 5v option for that circuit.
