Building a haptic bracelet with on/off switch

Post by Pagerling »

Hi,

I'm brand new to building/coding things! I'd like to build a wearable haptic/vibrating bracelet that mimics a heartbeat and/or cat purring that is controlled with a button.

From what I can tell I'd need to get something to act as the brain like the QT PY, a haptic motor controller, a stemma cable to connect them, a vibrating mini disc, a lithium ion battery, a button (I was thinking the tactile on/off switch with leads), and a USB type adapter.

Does this sound correct? Do I need both the QT PY and motor controller? Once I have the components do you think it would be fine for a beginner to build and code?

Any advice is helpful. Thanks!

Sounds about right. Think about battery support/charging. There;s the LiPo BFF for the QtPy: https://www.adafruit.com/product/5397.

Yes, you'll need both an MCU board (e.g. QtPy) and a haptic motor controller https://www.adafruit.com/product/2305.
