Hello,
I have a couple of students working on a project to recognize different words and light up neopixels according to the word that was spoken. They're using the microphone on the Braincraft HAT and a Raspberry Pi Model 4 B.
They have a strand of neopixels attached to GPIO 12 using the little 3pin JST connector. The neopixels do not light up. They're just using example code from this tutorial: https://learn.adafruit.com/neopixels-on ... thon-usage
I've tried using neopixels from the Braincraft HAT previously and have not had luck getting them to light up from the built-in JST connectors on GPIO 12 or 13. Are there specific wiring or coding instructions we need to know about to get the neopixels to work? Thanks so much. The code is not producing any errors, the lights just won't light up.
Thank you
Dawn

Re: Braincraft HAT- neopixels not working
Make sure the "3pin Volt" jumper on the bottom of the board is set to 3v, not 5v. The Pi uses 3v logic signals, so NeoPixels should be powered by 3v, not 5v. That and make sure the connections are correct.

Re: Braincraft HAT- neopixels not working
Thanks so much for the reply. The jumper I circled in the attached image? how do I change it to be set to 3V? It looks like it's bridged to the "35" side (what does that mean?) and I should instead bridge it to the 3v side? Do I just swipe the soldering iron between the middle pin and "35" pin to undo that bridge, and then apply a solder bridge from the middle pin to 3V?
Thanks in advance, if this fixes it I'll be so grateful. I've never been able to get neopixels to work on one of these. I do have the wires set to the correct pins on the GPIO connector. Servos and relays work, but not neopixels.

Re: Braincraft HAT- neopixels not working
That's it.
I'm not sure why it says "35". It's 5v. You need to cut the trace between the center and the 5v (um.. "35") side. and use solder to bridge the center to the 3v side.

Re: Braincraft HAT- neopixels not working
This did the trick. Thank you so much!!!! Is there a way to request that the LEARN guide for the braincraft hat be updated with this information? The guide says that neopixels can be used but it isn't clear that you need to modify this jumper.
Thanks again, this was such a game changer!
