short-circuit with the ports at the short side

Post by HansH »

Hi

Ports in the middle of the short side of the ItsyBitsy M4 board are EN, SWCLK, SWDIO, D3 and D4.
They are in line with D2 and RX as the corner ports.

By mounting on most breadboards, these 5 ports in the middle of the short side, are short-circuit with one or the other of the ports at the corner (if not header pins are not omitted).

Is there some kind of electrical problem, if RX and ports D3 and D4 are short-circuit, in case these digital ports (D3, D4) are not requested with the program running but RX is in operation, and same is short-circuit between D2, SWDIO and SWCLK a problem, if these ports are not used by the program?

That could be a problem. Don't use downward facing header on the end if you're using it on a breadboard. If you need those pins when on a breadboard you could use upward facing header and M-F jumpers to connect to the breadboard.
