Silicone wire insulation solvent

Post by spltt »

I've run into a problem with some wires broken off inside a curved metal tube that is part of a student project. The wires are a very tight fit, and if I can dissolve the silicone insulation I will be able to push them out with a flexible wire. What solvent will dissolve the silicone insulation on wire?

I'll check to see if anybody knows but, I would consider a lubricant like polywater instead

yeah silicone is designed to be extremely inert and has no safe dissolving solvent that we know of

Hmm, how about a less safe solvent?
