Thanks that’s what I feared
I am trying to add two switches to the circuit. One that allows the laser to work without sound and one that allows sound but no laser
Wiring the FX soundboard

Re: Wiring the FX soundboard
If I was to create another circuit using the fx 2x2 board the 3.7v lipo one led and no laser would this work as a power switch?

Re: Wiring the FX soundboard
That should be fine as long as it doesn't have to switch current through the laser.

Re: Wiring the FX soundboard
Hi there I’m going to have two circuits
One with the laser and one without
For the circuit with the laser, if I connect the ground wire of the laser will it flicker with the sound like the led does? Also, do you know if flickering the laser like that is damaging in any way to the laser?

Sorry connect the ground wire of the laser to the speaker ground

I don't know anything about the internal circuitry of your laser module. If it is just a simple laser diode, it will probably flicker somewhat when connected to the amplifier. If it has internal regulation circuitry, that might be damaged by the amplifier output.

Re: Wiring the FX soundboard
Hello there I have a question about resistors for the led. Can I use one resistor for 3 led or does each led need it’s own 62ohm resistor? I was thinking I could place the resistor in the power wire and connect each led to that single power wire after the resistor. Kind of like daisy chaining

Re: Wiring the FX soundboard
If the LEDs are wired in series, you can use one resistor. If they are in parallel, they each should have their own resistor.

Re: Wiring the FX soundboard
I wired two leds in series with a single 62ohm resistor
1 for power on and the other is triggered
When the sound effect and laser lights
Battery is the 7.4 lipo with the 5 volt step down converter
The speakers are enclosed in the prop
Volume is still rather anemic
I do have the speaker backs flat against some plastic so I am also thinking that could be a problem with air/vibrations not sufficiently coming from the back of the speakers.
I’m also wondering if the leds are sucking some of the volts away from the amp on the fx board so it’s not getting a full 5 volts.

Not sure I understand that. If the LEDs are actually in series, they will both light up at the same time.I wired two leds in series with a single 62ohm resistor

Some photos of your speaker installation and a diagram of your complete circuit might help us understand the problem.Volume is still rather anemic

Re: Wiring the FX soundboard
Ok thanks
Let me clean it first and tighten the wiring a bit

Re: Wiring the FX soundboard
Can you recommend a pair of speakers
That would be optimal for the fx amp board?
