What is temperature range of Platinum RTD Sensor - PT100 - 3 Wire RTD?

Post by mgale31 »

The adafruit "Platinum RTD Sensor - PT100 - 3 Wire 1 meter long" states two different specs on the page. In the summary it states the lowest temp is -50C, but later in the description, it says -200C. What is the true lowest range for this sensor?
I need to measure -85C so ideally the -200C spec is correct.

Looking at the product description I read that stainless steel shield is the limiting factor on the low range.
stainless steel shield that is good from -50°C to 280°C.
The raw enclosed sensor has a larger range.
Usable temperature range: -200 to 550°C (-328°F to +1,022°F)
