Running 16 Solenoids on 16-Channel 12-bit PWM/Servo Shield -

Post by djelijah560 »

Hi dear people,

is it possible to run 16 solenoids, each independently on Adafruit 16-Channel 12-bit PWM/Servo Shield - I2C interface?
Solenoids would be 12VDC and max. 1A.

Thank you,
Best.

It won't drive the servos directly. But you can use to control some power MOSFETs to drive the solenoids.

Thank you. I have succeeded.
I would also like to control the strength of solenoids, so I can achieve some kind of dynamic. I was thinking of using PWM for that. Is that a good way to do it?

Yes, PWM is a good way to control the average current level powering the solenoid.
