Hello, not very computer savvy. I bought this product
https://www.adafruit.com/product/4812
To get my own metro times arrival screen, but during the configuration process I seemed to have reformatted the drive and so now when I drag and drop CircuitPython onto the matrix it doesnt do anything. It seems that pressing the reset button doesn't reset it to its original state. Can anyone assist and help me get the matrix back to its original factory state?
EDIT, I def think I deleted something but I don't appear to have a ROOT folder in the MATRIXBOOT volume anymore

Re: Accidently reformatted drive
Thanks but I dont think this is the issue I am having. My Matrix Portal M4's circuitpy default matrixboot menu had a boot folder and other stuff, but I think i deleted /reformatted it by mistake. So even if I follow the instructions for installing circuitpython it doesnt seem to work. I guess I am just wondering if someone can tell me how to entirely reset the matrix portal m4, and from there, I can install circuit pythondastels wrote: ↑Sat Mar 25, 2023 3:14 pm See https://learn.adafruit.com/welcome-to-c ... cuitpython for instructions to (re)install CircuitPython.

Ah. Try reinstalling the bootloader. See the "Update UF2 Bootloader" section on https://circuitpython.org/board/matrixportal_m4/.

Re: Accidently reformatted drive
Thank you. One more dumb question. I'm trying to download a PY file, but when I copy it, it becomes a chrome hyperlink. The files I want to download are here: https://github.com/ScottKekoaShay/dc-me ... e/main/srcdastels wrote: ↑Sat Mar 25, 2023 3:50 pm Ah. Try reinstalling the bootloader. Clearly I am copying the files wrong...I can't figure out how to download these files and have them readable as PY files

You can clone the repo, or download it. Go up a level to https://github.com/ScottKekoaShay/dc-metro and click the green <> Code button and then Download ZIP at the bottom of the popup. Unzip what you download and the files will be in there.

I think if you reinstall the bootloader and CircuitPython you should be back in business. Let me know how it goes.
