Defective ST-Link V2 clone

Post by yesheng »

Hi,

I've purchased 3 ST-link V2 from Digikey (sales order number: 80604059). But those programmers don't work. The STM32CubeProgrammer couldn't really recognize it. The serial is apparently wrong, and it couldn't connect to the target. I'm also attaching a picture of a working one.

I've googled around and found this is a common issue for a knock-off ST-Link. I would have a higher expectation for Adafruit's product.

Thoughts on fixing these programmers?

Looking at the product page: https://www.adafruit.com/product/2548

It doesn't look like Adafruit actually makes them.

Have you contacted the vendor, Digikey?

Does it work with ST-Link?

Open the plastic enclosure and see what part number the main chip has.
