Can't copy files to adafruit soundboard

Hello,

I purchased an adafruit soundboard. But when I connect it to the
computer it registers as a speaker (vs1000b) and not an external
drive. I simply took it out of the box and plugged it in. There are
two lights on the unit, a green light and a red light.

Are you using a known good USB data cable? Can you use them same cable with a microcontroller or other USB device to verify?

I tried several different cables and even went out to buy a new one. When plugged in it still doesn't recognize it as a drive.

Did the cable you purchased say it was a USB data cable?

What USB port have you been plugging into on your computer?

Which OS are you running? Can you try another machine?

Which model the Adafruit sound boards are you using. Is it this one?

So I picked up a new cable that I verified can transmit data and it's still not working.

I'm running windows 10 and have attached a picture of the board

Okay, thank you for trying the new cable and different machines.

Let's start the replacement process. Please e-mail support@adafruit.com requesting a new Audio FX board. They will need this forum thread link as authorization and your order#.

I'm running into the same problem. Plug my adafruit soundboard into my Mac and nothing shows up. Tried multiple micro USB cables

Please start a new topic with your issue so we can go over the LEDs color status, OS version, cable and USB port confirmation.
