I am testing the LSM6DSOX + LIS3MDL Qwiic board so I can use it for a tilt compensated compass development. I noticed that my y-axis magnetometer reading was jumpy while the the other two axes readings were fine. I noticed this happening with two different modules and I was wondering if anyone else noticed the same thing.
I am using +-4 Gauss, 155Hz, UHP mode, and I also enabled the block data update functionality.

Are you using Arduino or CircuitPython code?
Was this based on an Adafruit example or have you customized it?

I am using my bare metal code that only performs reading the magnetometer output and printing it via UART.
