I would like to make a round RGBW Eyelight for film projects.
I have:
- Adafruit Feather nRF52 Bluefruit LE
- Neopixel ring 16
- Neopixel Jewel
I saw that I can control the color of the Neopixels, but it doesn't seem like I can control the Brightness through the app? Also is there a way to pick favorite colors and save them in the app?
I would love to have in addition a Hue, Saturation and Brightness analog control knob in the form of a potentiometer or similar. Would I need to get anything additional or would it work with potentiometers? If yes.... how? :)
I am sure many filmmakers would love to experiment with making their unique lights, but it is super hard to find anything specifically for RGB DIY lights for film. All are mostly cue-able effects. For now these things are only known on the very high end, like they are using it in films like Space Jam or The Mandalorian.
Long term I would also like to add a little screen that shows me the current CIE xyz color coordinates so I can recreate a certain color and brightness again. What Adafruit products would I need additionally for that?
Do I need any other parts?
I can only hope for a full breakdown including pointers to how to code this, but any hints are much appreciated.
Would also be an amazing opportunity to have lots of filmmakers engage in Adafruit products? :)
Thank you in advance for any help!

Re: Hue, Saturation and Brightness Control for RGBW Eyelight
Making an eyelight for film projects is a cool idea.
You can use the FancyLED library to gain more advanced color control.
There is also a guide for mixing colors using physical sliders over BLE.

Thank you Mikey for taking the time, that is so helpful.
I also wrote the question into chat GPT and it is spooky to me how it solved to my limited understanding this whole puzzle to the last detail.
