Need to broadcast a calling sound for my goats on my farm, using a PA loudspeaker, based on timer settings. I'm a total newbie with audio. I've used timers for automatic doors and feeders, but never for triggering audio and amplifying it.
What would be the simplest way to go about it? I'm thinking the Adafruit Audio FX Sound Board should work, but what equipment (and specs) do I need for amplifying the sound and broadcasting it?
Might also apply the same approach to playing taps every evening
Thanks in advance
Need suggestion for my simple project

An Fx board would work. You could us a small microcontroller to do the timing.
The 2+2W amplified version of the board is probably not powerful enough for your purposes, so I'd go with the basic version. The line-level output of the Fx board will work with most audio amplifiers. There is a 2MB and a 16MB version - depending on how big your sound files are.
