Pi Zero W 1.1 Hardware Issues

Post by reidberryman »

Hi, I was told by email to post here instead of going through email support.

#############

Hello,

In May 2023 I ordered a raspberry pi zero W 1.1 and recently got around to booting it up. I’ve used many raspberry pi’s over the years for multiple projects and I have concerns the one I ordered might actually be the first hardware failure one I’ve received.

I’ve tried multiple operating systems and cards and this particular raspberry pi appears to have some sort of instruction/CPU error that’s pointing toward hardware failure. This raspberry pi has not been used and was just removed from the package.

Is there any type of warranty offered? It’s brand new from the box, but I ordered in May of 2023. Just getting to testing now and discovered this. The failure is not consistent. It fails randomly at different points further pointing toward randomness in the hardware.

The timing is unfortunately beyond the 30 day return period:

Try this test as another way to check the general state of the Pi:
