Is it possible to provide the vcc power supply from the vcc pin from the serial port?? Thanks in advance

there isn't one. signal levels on a serial port are like +/- 10v.

yes you can....


But the current is low, you have use the pin 4 and 5 to the db-9 ang link to 1n4148...or...take tehe vcc from the USB :) or another external vcc.

This is basically why we invented USB... and that damn RS232 should be banished.

Get back to us on that after you've implemented a USB packet driver.

There's a reason those FTDI cables and chips are worth their weight in gold.
