I soldered together the MiniPOV4, plugged in power and nothing. None of the LEDs light up. After checking for soldering mistakes, I checked these forums. I checked that pin 7 (VCC) on the chip is getting power, it is. Here are my soldering images:
Thanks,
Stay safe,
All the best.
Here is the kit sticker:
I gather that some of the chips might have gone out unprogrammed. MiniPOV4 not working

Re: MiniPOV4 not working
Can you post another photo of the bottom side with the solder job. It's a little out of focus.

Here's a better picture. I did check potential shorts with my multimeter.
Would it possible program the chip myself using an Arduino and six pin ISP?- adafruit_support_carter

Re: MiniPOV4 not working
Thanks for the additional photo. It may be connection related. There may be a few pins that are cold soldered and not wetted out enough on the pads. See here:
https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-gui ... n-problems
Visually check your pins and for any that seem like they may be like this, go back with the soldering iron and try and reflow them a bit.
The firmware is here:
https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit-MiniPOV4-Kit
if you have the ability to program the chip. But it should have come programmed. So try the soldering first.
