Power when using CLUE with Crickit

Post by katharos »

I’ve seen some posts suggesting that the Crickit board will work with the CLUE, but … I think the Crickit board back-powers the Micro:bit through the 3v pin at the bottom, and I don’t think you can do that with the CLUE. So, to get this to work properly would you have to supply power to the CLUE separately? Would you have to cover over the connection between the Crickit and the CLUE 3v pin - because otherwise they would both be trying to power the pin and that seems… bad?

I’m guessing the people who suggested that this works had the clue hooked up to USB when they were doing a quick test - this would also independently power the CLUE. And likely both microcontrollers supplying 3v to the 3v pin wouldn’t blow anything up right away.

Thoughts?
