CIRCUITPY DRIVE NOT CREATED

Post by roncase »

Thursday, December 2, 2021
CLUE and FEATHER Mo EXPRESS no CIRCUITPY Drive
The CIRCUITPY drive is not created when starting either board.
Using WINDOWS10. Testing on two WINDOWS10 and a Chrome tablet.

The CLUE display indicates "Filesystem not found"
All other sensor data is working fine.
The problem started on the FeatherMo about November 11.
Received the CLUE December 1 and it never could create CIRCUITYP Drive.

Double click the CLUE Reset and FEATHERBOOT (G:) drive is created.
The capability to create a new drive is working.
Doesn't seem to be a problem of the board but the method being used at startup isn't working.

Have you installed CircuitPython on the boards? The CLUE comes loaded with a C++ demo as I recall. Get the CircuitPython UF2 files for the boards from https://circuitpython.org/downloads and copy each onto the respective BOOT drive.

Hi Dastels:
Neither my (new CLUE or FEATHER M4) activate anything when they are plugged in.
The CLUE displays "Filesystem not found" (and displays the local sensor data)
How do I access the files if I can't open any directory (or anything) with "Filesystem no found".
Double click the Reset and FEATHERBOOT (G:) is created
Therefore: The capability to create a new drive is working.

This is not a problem of the board but the method being used at startup isn't working.
The same problem exist of both boards.
Same results on two different Windows10 computers.

I did notice that Window10, November 2021 had an update "features for productivity and security".
This was when the problem began (but probably unrelated?)
Thanks for any suggestions.

I'll repeat myself:
Have you installed CircuitPython on the boards?
