Overhauling the USBtinyISP design is a good idea

My USBtinyISP died for reasons I've yet to figure out and my thoughts went to replacing it. I noticed a few things about the design that work against it. The ATtiny2313 is hard to find (probably due to general chip shortages) and the firmware only barely fits inside. The ATtiny4313 looks like an ideal replacement, but it too is even harder to find. Any other ideas? Maybe rework it to use an ATmega328p?
