My LCD is displaying Japanese not English! Why would that happen? To be clear, my code is sending English text, but Japanese and other characters are displayed.
Its a blue-n-white 16x2 LCD connected to a Pico. I'm currently using MicroPython, but had the same problem with CircuitPython.
I'm pretty sure my wiring is correct, but I've found a number of inconsistent wiring diagrams online, so I could have it wrong.
Any suggestions?

Can you post clear photos of what's being displayed as well as your wiring/connections?

In double checking the wiring to take a photo, I tested a different arrangement, and now it works!
