PowerBoost 500 Shield Stopped Working

Post by healwhans »

Hi!

Was able to solder up the headers and switch cleanly to the PCB. The shield to worked with a Feather M0 for a few hours. After some sketch changes and an upload, reconnected the Feather to the PowerBoost. Flipped the switch to ON on the PowerBoost and it literally turned on for a second and then went off. Flipped the power switch a couple times, tried charging the LIPO. The CHG LED on the PowerBoost went on so I left it over night. The DONE LED never illuminated. So there is something wrong with the shield. Please help.

Thanks,
Heal

Can you post a photo of the soldered up PowerBoost 500 shield.

Also of the battery you are using. Is it an Adafruit LIPO? If not can you post a photo of it with the leads and connector clearly visible?

See attached.

The LIPO was purchased from Adafruit, but it wasn't identified as an Adafruit LIPO.

Thanks!

Thank you for the photos. The soldering looks good.

The batteries orientation is correct. However, it looks like there is some what tape around the batteries wires and a second pair of red and black wires that I cannot make out what they are connected to. Can you elaborate on your setup?

That's the tape that came with the battery. It was used to hold the wires to the battery. All I did was remove the tape and wrapped it around the wires to keep them neat.

The battery was purchased from Adafruit P2011 http://adafru.it/2011

Thanks,

Okay, let’s try another board. Please e-mail [email protected] and request a replacement. Include your order# and a link to this forum thread.
