Changing SPI FLASH chip to bigger: 2MB -> 8MB

Post by Tipo1000 »

Hi,

I successfully replaced 2MB SPI FLASH on my ItsyBitsy to 8MB (Winbond W25Q64JV). It's in SOIC8 package and sits on external break board.

I tried it with Arduino example sketches "SdFat_ReadWrite", "SdFat_datalogging" and "SdFat_print_file" and it seems to be working.

Do I now have 8MB FLASH memory in use or do I have to define it somewhere that I have bigger FLASH chip in order to get whole memory in use?

Thanks,
Tipo
