I have an Ultimate GPS featherwing and a HUZZAH 32 feather V2 and have loaded the sketch on pages 11 and 12 of the HPS 35 page Adafruit description.
The sketch compiles and loads into the ESP32V2, but the serial output is not at all like described in the Adafruit document.
The reset button on the GPS works and the output is readable, but I don't understand what it is trying to tell me. The are eight lines of output and nothing until RESET is applied. Then it repeats those same lines.
Also, I can't seem to copy the serial output and paste, so I have made a screen copy that shows the serial output.
Any help will be appreciated.

I found this direct link which doesn't require dowloading the entire .pdf: https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-ult ... rx-tx-test

can you post a photo showing your wiring/soldering? is the red LED on the GPS wing on/blinking?

The red LED does blink on and off continually.

Made a .zip file of the photo, but I cannot figure out how to send that file. Anyhow, the all the pins along the two long edges of both boards connect via stacking headers. Nothing else is connected except the USB connector.

Re: Need help w/ultimate GPS + ESP32V2 feather
The picture uploaded yesterday looked OK for a while and now it doesn't.
Can someone assure me the boards I am using are pin-to-pin compatible color AND that all pins in the outer rows of the two longest sides can all be connected together without causing any problem?

Could I have ordered the wrong items?

Can you post a picture of the bottom side of the gps board? The pins might be backwards

Thank you. The original picture is a bit blurry but can you reflow the solders? They look like several might not be flowing to the pad. I retouched your picture to make it easier for me to see.

Re: Need help w/ultimate GPS + ESP32V2 feather
I have examined my soldering carefully under magnification. I'll take some pictures of it when I borrow the camera again. However, meanwhile, I DO have faith in my soldering.
Without knowing for certain, it seems as if the GPS module is not communicating with the ESP32 unit (at least the LED on the GPS card is blinking). Also, I found the serial output as shown by Adurino is exactly the same as when the GPS card is not used.
The GPS schematic is hard to read. It is not in the form I am used to studying. The plug does connect the GPS circuit board serial RX and TX to the GPS board TX and RX pins. The outputs of the GPS chip shown on the schematic seem to go to a connector J3. It is unclear from the schematic that they connect to the RX and TX pins mating with the ESP32 card.
I am hesitant to bug the continuity from the GPS chip to the RX and TX connections, but perhaps that is the only thing left to do?
