I have connected the 5-pin audio jack following the instructions found at this forum post (viewtopic.php?f=8&p=578564), using the adafruit mono amp (https://www.adafruit.com/product/2130) and 5-pin jack(https://www.adafruit.com/product/1699).
But the speaker is not switching off when I connect headphones. Both the speakers and headphones continue to play audio. I am wondering if I have accidentally shorted something or wired improperly. Attached photos show the wiring.
A- and speaker- to pin 3
A+ to pin 4
Speaker+ to pin 5
Thanks!

Re: Headphone audio using 3.5 mm jack -- speaker not turning off
Solved!
Had my +/- from my sound source backwards on the amp.
Then had to wire pin 1 to A+ from amp as well.
Now works great!
