Hello all,
I want to use the STEMMA NON-LATCHING MINI RELAY to control power to a sensor. Now, the controller can provide 12V and 80ma. Is it possible to power and control the relay from 12V? I downloaded the schematics but there is no voltage ratings for the capacitors and resistors used. Transistor and diode look OK.
Thanks

The relay coil is rated for a nominal 3v and has a resistance of 64 ohms. Activating the relay with 12v will draw about 188mA and result in considerable heating.

Thanks for the help. Does Adafruit have another relay module that can run from 12V?

All the relays we carry are designed for use with control voltages in the 3v-5v range. I'd check with Mouser or DigiKey. They both carry extensive ranges of relays.
