DIY USB-C Cable Plug Spec

Post by bcmohr »

Does anyone know what the USB spec is for the USB-C ribbon cable plug DIY part (Adafruit Product ID: 4108) is? I'm looking to reach USB 3.2 gen y, but I'm not sure what's possible with this component. Ideally just PD3.0 is the minimum it should be able to pass through a DIY female to male USB-C Cable using this part, this is intended to maybe assist with designing a good low profile case plug for my Steam Deck. Thanks for the time!

Since these are not true twisted pair cables they will not be 'USB C spec or certificaiton' - you'll want the shortest cable you can get away with. they do not have EMARK chips obviously - but should be able to pass data at USB 3 speeds
