Recording audio with Music Maker

Post by finoradin »

If I plug a 3.5mm lavalier microphone into the Music Maker Featherwing, can I record audio? Can't find anything about recording in the documentation…

Music maker featherwing is based on VS1053. So, the board must be able to record audio in wav format. This guideline says how to record with VS1053 MP3/AAC/Ogg/MIDI/WAV Codec. I think we can follow the same procedure with Music maker featherwing too.

By "plug in" do you mean using the pre-amp jack output? Then, no. you can't record via this output. the music maker shield for arduino has a few extra pins which may allow 'recording' to the SD....as for the feather, I would consult https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-mus ... s?view=all

It is primarily a decoding chip...but you may be able to record to the SD via another mounted feather or via the VS1053B modification of pins/pin registry/code on the MM feather.....

pins 1 ..mic in...not hooked up on feather..might be another digital-in way....
