Fingerprint reader not reading and getting hot
I just got a ultra-slim fingerprint sensor and was able to get my fingerprint reader working with the example sketches on my Arduino nano, however when trying to enroll my finger the sensor is very very warm to the touch and it will not recognize my finger. I have it hooked up to 3.3v and have tried with both the nano power and an external 3.3v power supply

Also if it matters, I have the yellow wire hooked up to the nano TX pin and the green wire hooked up to the RX pin and it is recognizing the fingerprint sensor, just wont read my fingerprint and gets almost painful to the touch because it is so hot

Please post a photo of your setup showing how everything is connected.

Re: Fingerprint reader not reading and getting hot
I do apologize for the messy pictures, but I tried to capture my setup as best as I can. Red wire from sensor goes to nano 3.3v, black goes to ground, green goes to nano RX and yellow goes to nano TX

Re: Fingerprint reader not reading and getting hot
Thanks. That all looks generally OK. Let's just replace it. The getting warm thing sounds like maybe something is shorted internally.
