Adafruit Soundboard Not Recognized

Post by roycwalton »

Hello there,
Recently got a FXboard (2220 WAV/OGG with 16MB Flash) and have stumbled into a problem that I tried researching here but only found closed threads from 4+ years ago.

I have used different computers, USB slots, and USB cords to no avail - I cannot get my Soundboard to be recognized as a flash drive to drop in my wav files.

Is there anything else I can try before I attempt a refund or replacement?

Thank you for your help in advance

The first suspect is the USB cable. Using different cables is pointless unless one actually is a data cable. Be sure you are trying a confirms data cable (i.e. it works for data with a different device).

Thank you for your response; yes the cable I am using has worked successfully on several other Arduino/ESPHome projects and is data +/-.

When you plug it into your computer, does the green power LED light up? If so, do you hear the startup beep in the headphones?

Yes and yes - both the LED and the beep can be heard. Device manager, disc manager, and explorer still do not see the device.

Have you soldered anything to the board? If so can you post a clear closeup of the soldering?

Please email [email protected] with a link to this thread, your order number, and request the replacement of one Audio FX Sound Board - WAV/OGG Trigger with 16MB Flash.
