I've been set with the task at my company to figure out how to make and program 2 buttons that will be plugged into a PC, each button will have it's own task.
A past employee was able to do this with a custom arcade button and a PC laptop. The button trigged a powerpoint presentation to go to a particular slide that contained a video for a short presentation. That's the exact same task these two buttons need to perform off a PowerPoint presentation, both going to two different slides.
I feel I understand the more basic concept, but the more I look into it, the more unsure I feel about it.
Please help!

Re: Programmable Macro Arcade Style USB Button
This guide comes pretty close to what you are describing. It was you through building a 4-button USB device to be plugged into a PC.
