potentiometer wire extension

Post by fairywings82 »

Hi everyone,

I want to mount the potentiometer for fairy wings on a wristband. I found the adafruit 2pn jst cable extension. I can't seem to find a 3pn jst cable extension. Does anyone know where I could find one or do I have to splice the wires together to make them longer? The adafruit tutorial for fairy wings did not mention how to make the wires longer so I'm just trying to figure it out. Thanks in advance for the help!

We don't have an extension cable for that. But it should not be too difficult to splice in some longer wires.

Do you know what gauge the 2pn jst cable and 3pn jst cable are?

It is probably about 24AWG or the metric equivalent. However gauge is not critical for wiring to the pot, since the current will be negligible. For wearable applications, I like to use the silicone coated wire for super flexibility:

We have both ribbon and single wire in 26 or 30 AWG: https://www.adafruit.com/?q=silicone+co&sort=BestMatch
