Error in Datasheet for PT1000 RTD

Post by jonvarteresian »

Product 3984, PLATINUM RTD SENSOR - PT1000 - 3

I bought 2 PT1000 RTDs from digikey because the datasheet attached to the part lists the temp range with a max of 550C (see attached). But, when using them, i killed it pretty much around 350C. I then went to the adafruit website, and noticed that your site lists max temp as 280C.

I can confirm the limit is 280C!

You should update your digikey datasheet, as it is misleading.

thanks

Yeah, that would be the difference between the RTD element and the cable assembly. At 280C there's a good chance you're melting any solder joints.

I'll let the folks who handle documentation know about the Digikey datasheet. Since this is a documentation error, let's also get you another cable.

Send a note containing a link to this page and your order number to [email protected]. The folks there will get you a replacement.

thanks,

no need to worry about a replacement. i also noticed the digi-key search engine lists it at 550c (see attached). that should be updated at a min.

thanks

We've gotten a new datasheet to Digikey, and will check the selection matrix as well.

Thanks!
