500c v. 1000c PowerBoost for Trinket

Post by ustrina_rising »

I'm working on my first electronic project and was wanting to use LiPoly batteries. The internet recommended a PowerBoost because it would let me plug the battery into the circuit instead of soldering it and I got the 1000c, because that's what was in stock, but now I'm wondering if I actually need a 500c? I'm not 100% sure what the difference is...

For context, I have both a trinket mini and trinket pro available for this project and just need to power 6 neopixels (on a dot strand).

Should I be using a PowerBoost? Is there something else I can connect to the trinket so I can plug the battery into the board? Thank you for your help!!

The main difference between the 500C and the 1000C is the amount of current they can supply.

The PowerBoost 500C would be sufficient to power the Trinket & 6 pixels. But the added capacity of the 1000C won't hurt anything.
