Grand Central - PCB board colour, 4064 now in Purple?

Post by FabioFtd »

Hello!

I have just ordered product ID: 4064 Grand Central M4 Express from a distributor in the UK but received a Purple version with soldered headers, did Adafruit change it recently?

Could this be a replica? It came in a pink bubble wrap bag sealed with a bit of clear tape, usually Adafruit parts come in a pink sealed bag. With all the drawings available online, I’m just wondering if someone would go through all the trouble.

The only slight defect is the DC jack is not very straight, soldered pointing slight to the right.

I ask support about this, but it looks like https://www.adafruit.com/product/4084. The taped bag seems off though.

this is normal, with the chip and PCB shortages, some boards ended up being purple based on the inventory we had. its otherwise identical
